INSECTICIDES
Insecticides are the chemicals that are used to destroy a variety of bugs and worms in the farm crops, in gardens, or at home. Similarly, the chemicals used to control mites (Acarina) are called as Acaricides or Miticides, and the chemicals used to control rodents are called as Rodenticides. Insecticides are claimed to be a major factor behind the increase in the 20th-century’s agricultural productivity.
FUNGICIDES
Several organisms like Fungi, Bacteria, Virus, lead to plant mold, rot, and possibly disease. The chemical components or bioagents used to kill or restrain the fungi or fungal spores are termed as Fungicides. Fungicides help to reduce fungi before they become a serious problem. Fungicides can be either protectants or eradicants.
HERBICIDES & WEEDICIDES
Weed is a plant considered unwanted or troublesome especially growing where it is not required. Weed management through any chemical that kills it or restrains its growth is known as Herbicide or Weedicide. They differ from other pesticides because they are intended to kill or curtail various types of plant growth instead of protecting them.
